WHO WE ARE

The Global TB Caucus is a global network of parliamentarians uniting across borders and ideologies to drive political action, change policies, and secure funding - to protect the health of everyone, everywhere, and to end TB.

With members in 44 out of 48 high TB burden countries, 18 G20 nations, and national TB caucuses in 58 countries, we work alongside civil society and global partners to keep TB where it belongs - at the top of the political agenda.

WHY WE ARE NEEDED

TB is preventable. Treatable. Curable. Yet in 2023, it killed 1.25 million people.

And it doesn't just kill - it disrupts lives, it separates families, it tries to break communities. Those affected face stigma, isolation, and lost livelihoods. This is not because we lack solutions, but because TB has been politically sidelined and underfunded.

In 2023, funding for TB programmes fell USD$16.3 billion short of the annual targets agreed by world leaders at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB in 2023.

GTBC's Founding Co-Chairs

WITHOUT URGENT INVESTMENT, MILLIONS WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER, AND GLOBAL HEALTH SECURITY WILL BE AT RISK.

Governments must step up and parliamentarians are key to making that happen. They have the power to shape, approve and monitor the funding and policy changes needed to end TB.

But in an era of constrained public finances, parliamentarians must act strategically - making the right decisions at the right time - so that governments meet international commitments and protect the health and wellbeing of their citizens.

The Global TB Caucus exists to mobilise and equip these champions - because without committed political champions, ending TB will remain out of reach.
